Photo Misfit: Former Prosecutor-General Confused for FBI-Wanted Man

MP Svaytoslav Piskun, PRU, who also happens to be a former three-time Prosecutor-General of Ukraine, had his photo mistakenly used in a Russia Channel news report of today’s arrest of Sergey Schneider, also known as Semion Mogilevich.

According to Ukrayinska Pravda, Russia Channel, also known as RTR, attached Piskun’s photo to a report on Mogilevich, who is wanted by Russian law enforcement in a tax evasion case.

Semion Mogilevich is also wanted by the FBI and, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, has (or had) ties with Ukraine's current gas supplier, RosUkrEnergo (RUE), a claim which both Mogilevich and RUE have repeatedly denied.

  2. Wow!!! So Bill’s dirty little YESmanship can become quite a liability for Hillary? And btw, did he get invited to the borscht party at Davos:)))?

Believe it or not, but when I read the title of the second article, I thought stabilnist:))) It turns out I was right on target.

Perhaps McCain should have studied Manafort’s resume more closely, paying special attention to the “employers” and “achievements” sections. Still, it’s not uncommon for U.S. politicians to use the double standard as a blueprint for domestic and foreign policy agendas.

My message to McCain strategists: Stabilnist starts at home. Sell as much as you can, but stay away from Ukraine.

Thank you sooo much, Luida!:) These articles hit the spot. You’re a real treasure trove!!!:)

  5. Thanks for the links, Luida!

Of course, I want to thank the people who did these enlightening pieces! They did a great job. We need more people like them to keep America informed!

In contrast, it’s funny how the good borscht-eating people at Davos left the the Big Mac Index and the issue of Ukrainian wage rates in the cold.

And I loved the way Fred Bergsten broke the ice and grilled McDonbas over the dollar peg. Not only does the undervalued hryvnia create problems for Ukrainian consumers, but it also affects the earnings of Western companies doing business in Ukraine.

Get a load of this story!

About Mogilevich being arrested to protect Medvedev.

Seems that people in Russia are always being arrested for "failure to pay taxes," or "embezzlement."
