Translation Gaffe Spices Up Clinton-Lavrov Meeting

Looks like they pushed the wrong button.

It should have been перезагрузка (perezagruzka — Rus. for reset, reload) instead of перегрузка (peregruzka — Rus. for overload, overcharge).

Well, let’s see where they go from here.

Everyone's having a good laugh at the gaffe--especially the Russians. But, the Obama/Clinton team is not up to the task of standing up to Moscow's geopolitical aspirations.

When the reset button gets lost in translation on day one, one may wonder what other mission-critical buttons will be lost later.

Well, Taras, it's even worse than that.

The Smartest Woman in the World and her crew actually didn't translate.

They wrote the letters, not in Cyrillic characters, but in Latin characters.

One would think that Obama and Billary and the Dimwitcrats would have written the word in Cyrillic characters if they are son intent on bending over for Pootler.

You can see what the Streetwise Professor thought about it at his blog.

And here's a picture.

Apparently it showed up on Kommersant as well.

Not only did they make a giant translation gaffe, but they made it in a nonstandard Latinized form, as if the gaffe itself wasn’t enough.

Now the whole world knows that the U.S. State Department has yet to learn the language of the country it wants to reset relations with.

Thanks a million for this important update, Elmer!

It's hard to believe, but this "gift" is even worse than the boxed set of DVDs President Obama gave to PM Brown last week.

Video, complete with irritating Billary cackle, is here:

On-the-job training must have begun, John!

At least, the collection didn’t include The Patriot.

Thank you for the historic video, Elmer!

The way Secretary Clinton laughed her way through the embarrassing scene truly amazes me.
