Smug Pro-Yanukovych MPs Scolded by Struggling Seniors

40 years of work leaves you with $100/month, not enough to pay for utilities.

The rest goes to first-class citizens who worship all things Soviet.

Woman 3:
I, Valentyna Volodymirivna, want to particularly address Lukyanov and Chechetov: What do I have to do — how should I get down on my knees before you — so I’LL NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN HERE? HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT, HUH? YOU SHAMELESS ONES! I’ve worked for 40 years, I’m disabled due to cancer, and my father died during the first days there, in the war. He wants to see your flag? He doesn’t want to see this humiliation that you cause us! And you think he has interest in your flag! You can put it wherever you want, put it on, go out, have fun, get drunk in your palaces! But don’t touch us. And you [opposition] keep fighting. As sick as we are, we’ll help you. Trust us. And our grandchildren stand ready to help you. So that we’ll never have to see and hear these “wand wavers” [imitates Chechetov] illiterate “wand wavers” because all they have is their big mouths, down to their knees! I’m sorry, I’m sorry.

Signing the Soviet flag into law

Draconian Tax Law Approved (Watch How)

One person, one vote?

Not in Ukraine!

Yes he can! MP Chechetov can orchestrate a vote-for-your-absentee-pal symphony.

Music to His ears!

Reggie Degrades Commies as ‘Wife’

Who says there are no women in this cabinet? Here comes the “wife,” (aka Communists).

MP Mykhailo Chechetov (PRU): If there’s one television: The husband wants to watch soccer...and the wife, ballet. If...uh...the wife...fulfills the husband’s request and makes it possible to watch soccer — she goes to the kitchen, drinks some coffee, goes to a girlfriend, goes out and so on — then this family will live forever, so to speak, and in one day...in...in a hundred years, in one day…they’ll die together. But if the wife should say, “And I want to...watch ballet on television!” and the husband says, “And I want soccer!” then this family’s day are numbered. That’s why in this situatioooooon we sometimes let the Communists...watch our soccer. [lowers voice for smug effect]

Let me translate. “You want a husband, open your legs. You want a divorce, open your mouth.” That's the house rule for the junior partners in the Coalition of Carcasses.

Actually, there’s one exception. Meet the “wife” who knows how to use her mouth without getting divorced.

The Birth of a PRU-BYuT Coalition, Sexually Speaking

Here’s a quote from a guy who couches the mechanics of coalition-building in obstetric and medieval terms.

MP Mykhailo Chechetov, PRU: There’s a…a fo-fo-folktale that if a woman is expecting, then, until she gives birth to a child, she doesn’t buy…she doesn’t even buy diapers, right? Once the child is born, only then does she start buying everything — not to spoil things. Here’s the same case: If we give birth to this healthy and good child — to the so-called “new coalition format” — then it will be possible to talk about how the negotiations went, write memoirs, and so on.

Are Chernomyrdin and Chechetov talking about the same woman?

Some pundits have already Christened the would-be coalition "ПРіБЮТ," which sounds like приб’ють (pry-byut’), meaning "they'll nail us."

Maybe we should buy those diapers right away, before the ПРіБЮТ lovechild is born?

Chechetov Can’t Wait for the Orange Coalition to Die

MP Mykhailo Chechetov, PRU: It’s…it’s over! The Coalition’s gone! It…it has died! Forget about the Coalition! It’s gone. It has already died. It’s just agony, death throes, and last convulsions. But they all end in the corpse being removed.

Looks like we have a case of death fetishism here — a political one — and a lot more histrionic than Donnie Pfaster’s.

PoRnoholics Passive & Plagiaristic

I believe that the possibility of a meteorite falling on the head of some earthling is a thousand times higher than that of the Orange Coalition voting and electing a Speaker on Tuesday. In this situation, we are passive bystanders and are watching this coalition rot and implode.
— MP Mykhailo Chechetov, Party of Regions

Passive bystanders? Is that really so, Mr. Chechetov? And by the way, wasn’t this meteorite thing already explored by some other Regionalist? Anyway, your bet is accepted.

Spooky Halloween Edition
PoRnoholics Gynecological

A monochrome Orange coalition — it has died stillborn. It won’t happen, and the processes that occur from within — let me say it again — they have already buried the Orange coalition in advance. Today, the agenda is to form a parliamentary coalition of national unity, at the core of which will be the winning party, the Party of Regions. And one year from now, so many things will happen that I think we’ll have a coalition of 300 [constitutional majority]…not just 226, but…
— MP Mykhailo Chechetov, PRU

A coalition of national impunity that’s coming full circle?

PoRnoholics Astronomical

Well, there is some probability that that the Earth may collide with a very large meteorite. That’s about the same probability that these two political forces will form a sustainable working coalition.
— MP Vladyslav Lukyanov, PRU

This guy obviously missed Tymoshenko’s Nostradamus ad.

PoRnoholics Medieval

Are you kidding? Why are we supposed to work in the opposition if we are the winners? As the winning party, we have the right of the first night — to be the first to form a coalition.

MP Mykhailo Chechetov, Party of Regions (acronyms: PRU, PoR), quoted in Ukrainian weekly Vysoky Zamok, week of Oct. 25-31

Too bad neither Viagra nor, to a lesser extent, the Party of Regions was invented in the Middle Ages.

Yanukovych Gov’t Helped by God” as Grain Stockpiles Rot in Odesa Port

Even God is helping the Yanukovych Government. When God sees us doing what’s right and understands that spokes are being put in our wheels, we get the warmest winter in 100 years. The Yanukovych Government is being helped by God. He sees from above.

Let the traders bear their losses. The traders are the least of our concerns.
These touching soundbites belong to MP Mykhailo Chechetov, PRU, former head of the State Property Fund, a government agency responsible for overseeing state-owned enterprises and approving privatization deals. In 2004, with Chechetov’s blessing, Kryvorizhstal was auctioned off for $800mn.

A year later, in an open bid, the steel mill fetched $4.8 bn. (Sometimes, God chooses to help the highest bidder, which kind of dashes cold water on Chechetov’s metaphysical observations. He may not have realized it, but the hyperbolic manner in which he chose to heap praise on Proffessor bordered on satire of Borat’s caliber.)

The second quote indirectly relates to the 2003 grain crisis, a major embarrassment for PM Yanukovych during his first coming. With a record harvest in 2002, Ukraine experienced a blowout frenzy of exports that put truckloads of money in traders’ pockets and left farmers scrambling to repay their loans.

On top of that, it depleted the country’s grain stock to a point when imports had to be contracted for, at a higher price, of course. Poor Proffessor! He should have written an autobiographical narrative titled: “Sell Low, Buy High: How Government Spending Helps the Global Grain Market.”

It doesn’t take a scientist to interpret the current Draconian regulations as a mixture of never-again paranoia and bread-and-circus populism. Hey Cargill, give us a break. Can’t you see it? This time Proffessor got the Breadbasket of Europe sealed tight. Not a bushel goes to Bush until Proffessor approves it. Even if it means tons of grain rotting all the while. A few days ago, U.S. Ambassador Taylor took a trip to Odesa to see for himself.

Since Ukrainian grain had been consumed in Ancient Greece, it needs an adequate hero to deliver it from decay. How about sending the Governator on a mission similar to the one he played in “Hercules in New York?”
After all, Arnie has repeatedly identified Ukrainian powerlifter Leonid Zhabotynsky as his life-changing role model.
